Who We Are

5Intrinsically Ectothermic LLC is a father-son partnership that offers thriving and beautiful reptiles that have been produced in our own terraria. We specialize in our favorite type of reptile, the lizard.

We love lizards!

Every year for decades now, we share our love for lizards through educational presentations throughout our home state of Virginia.

We have deep knowledge and understanding from over 35 years of observing and breeding lizards in our terraria. In that time, we have reproduced over 60 species and counting.

Our curious and methodical mindset leads us to continually update our understanding by comparing it with current trends and studies. For decades, we have repeatedly trialed numerous components of our husbandry to learn more about the lizards and what makes them thrive. For some species, we have been able to observe the results of such trials over long periods of time, such as our bearded dragons, which we have been breeding across many generations for over 30 years now.

This attitude of trying many things and questioning everything has given us experience and success with lizards from a great variety of ecosystems using a variety of terrarium designs, both indoors and outdoors.

We only sell robust, thriving lizards.

Purchasing a lizard online is a big step that we have taken many times ourselves. We have experienced the same feelings of concern that you may be feeling as you search for the right lizard for you. There have been times when we were disappointed in the quality and condition of the lizards we have purchased.

We never want our customers to feel that way. We breed lizards because we love them and we want to share that love with you.

When you purchase your lizard from Intrinsically Ectothermic, you will receive a robust and thriving specimen. We take satisfaction in the health and quality of our entire collection. Every lizard that leaves our care must pass one final examination to ensure that it meets our high standards before we pass it along to you.

We do everything possible to ensure that our lizards will continue to happily thrive in your home so that they may provide you with many years of joy. We provide solid husbandry advice and care articles based on over 35 years of experience breeding dozens of species in our terraria, and we are happy to answer your questions about our lizards before and after your purchase.

We are grateful to you for choosing our lizards. We respect your decision to spend your hard-earned money to enjoy our beautiful lizards. Thank you!
